Need help remembering this movie, think it's set in the 50's or 60's?

I don't know when it was made and I was a kid when I watched it on TV.

I remember they were dressed in like the 50's or 60's kind of clothing
where the guys slicked their hair and wore leather jackets. It's a
high school comedy.
I remember this one scene where the juvenile delinquent was smoking
while walking down the hall way and when the teacher came he swallowed
his cigarette and held it in his mouth. I can't remember much of it
but all I recall is me and my siblings laughing so hard.
